A Straight Line
A straight line, nothing more,
A firm line
Between the two sides of the page
And the chance of saying :
One side or the other.
But, on the contrary, paper is absorbent,
The place of the line is taken by a colony
Of earthworms creeping
From one side to the other
Through the ground ploughed by the nib,
Trembling and irresolute,
Still cutting their way out,
Dissolving border and ink.
The moral :
Do not ask the executioner
About the difference between good and evil.
